About the Arvon Foundation
In 1968 two poets, John Fairfax and John Moat brought together 16 school children for a week of living and working together as writers. Their guest reader on that first week was the Poet Laureate, Ted Hughes. The week was a huge success and the Arvon Foundation was born.
