Fresh from an appearance at the Edinburgh International Book Festival, Tom Drury will join us in the Straw Bale Studio for a reading from his work.

TOM DRURY has published five novels and written short stories for McSweeney’s Quarterly Concern, A Public Space, The New Yorker, and more. He is the recipient of Berlin Prize and Guggenheim Fellowships. A film adaptation of  The Driftless Area – cowritten by Drury and director Zac Sluser – premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in April 2015. The cast includes Anton Yelchin, Zooey Deschanel, John Hawkes, Frank Langella, Ciaran Hind, Aubrey Plaza, and Alia Shawkat as Carrie the poet. Drury‘s novels have been translated into German, French, and Spanish. In March 2015 Old Street Publishing in London issued a new edition of The End of Vandalism with an introduction by Jon McGregor, to be followed later in the year by Hunts in Dreams and Pacific.  Drury has lived in Iowa, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Florida, California, Brooklyn, Iowa again, and, currently, at the American Academy in Berlin.
