Write With Your Favourite Author For A Week. Over six months of the year residential creative writing courses are run in association with the world renowned Arvon Foundation. Running from Monday afternoon until Saturday morning, Arvon courses are tutored by two established authors and feature a guest reader on Wednesday evenings. Sixteen students benefit from daily workshops and one to one tutorials. Previous tutors include Joanne Harris, Carol Ann Duffy, Ali Smith, Bernard MacLaverty, A. L. Kennedy and Alan Bisset. Genres include novel, poetry, screenplay, crime, writing for children and many others. Through a limited bursary fund Moniack Mhor offers grants for Arvon courses.
