Writing Exercise #12: Weather and Loss

Writing Exercise 12 – Weather and Loss

Choose a kind of weather, and then imagine something has been lost in it, or because of it. Maybe an object has been dropped in the snow, or long lost love letters have blown away in the wind, or maybe a boat has disappeared in a storm at sea. The forces of nature can be such a great source of inspiration, so really get creative and feel free to think outside the box.

Once you’ve got your idea, your writing can take the form of poetry, a short story, or flash fiction. You decide where the story goes – maybe the something lost is found, or gone forever. If your idea really takes off into a longer story, go with it. Use this holiday period to explore your imagination!
