If you’re aged 14 or upwards, you can come for work experience at Moniack Mhor. Work experience placements can be of varying lengths and are supported by our Youth Programme Coordinator. It is a great way to learn the inner workings of the office and how an arts organisation is run. There are also plenty of opportunities during your time with us to join workshops and guest readings.
At Moniack Mhor, we support independent writing clubs, and any young person wanting to set up a writing club based in the Highlands. We can arrange for tutors to deliver occasional workshops for your group. We’ll be there for support and advice, but our main aim is to help young people set up the writing clubs themselves, help them to grow and keep them going.
Our Youth Programme Manager at Moniack Mhor is registered and trained to deliver bronze and silver arts awards. Working towards an Arts Awards is a great way to develop arts and leadership talents. Moniack Mhor will cover the cost of materials and moderation certificates for anyone working with us towards an arts award.

If you’re aged 16 to 25 and based in the Highlands, we may be able to offer you a full bursary to come on one of our open programme creative writing courses. We will be earmarking three spaces on our open programme specifically for young writers, so don’t miss this great opportunity to attend a course, come up to the house and see us!
