Tutor

Tamara Schlesinger is a songwriter, producer, and music industry leader with 25 years’ experience. She is the founder and CEO of Hen Hoose Collective, a women and non-binary songwriting collective founded in 2020 and funded by Creative Scotland. Hen Hoose Collective works to level the playing field for songwriters and producers, and has been recognised by the John Lennon Foundation for its gender equality work. Tamara is also director of Tantrum Records, solo artist MALKA, and former lead singer/songwriter of 6 Day Riot. She has released nine albums, enjoyed chart success, extensively toured the UK, Europe and North America, and performed at festivals including Glastonbury and Bestival.

First Stages

First Stages is part of The Scottish Government’s Youth Music Initiative (YMI) which is administered by Creative Scotland. The YMI creates access to high quality music making opportunities, enables young people to achieve their potential in or through music and supports the development of the sector for the benefit of young people.

This event is for anyone aged 16-25 (up to 30 if you have lived experience of the care system) living in Scotland who is interested in songwriting and experiences isolation or have less access to making songs. By signing up, you acknowledge that you are eligible.
