Residential Terms and Conditions

Bookings
Bookings can only be confirmed when accompanied by the stated deposit. The balance of your course fee is payable no later than ten weeks before the course starts. If we do not receive your balance when due, we reserve the right to offer the place to someone else.

Travel insurance
Unfortunately, we cannot reimburse travel costs or other losses incurred in the event of cancellation. This applies to cancellations by us or you. We advise you to take out travel insurance and please check that the policy suits your needs i.e. covers for course fees and travel costs.

Cancellations
Unfortunately, deposits are non-refundable.
For cancellations made up to 10 weeks before the course takes place, your course fee (if paid) minus your deposit will be returned. Within ten weeks of the course your course fee, minus the deposit, will be returned if we succeed in re-filling your place. If we cannot re-fill your place, we will retain the full fee and deposit.
Sometimes we can offer a transfer to another course.

Transfers
You may be able to transfer your booking to another course, subject to availability. We will normally accept transfers up to 10 weeks before the course takes place, and all fees and deposit paid will be allocated to the new course.
Please note that we can only transfer a booking to a course within the same year, and that once a booking is transferred we are unable to offer any refunds for subsequent cancellation, or further transfers.

Changes to the programme
On occasion, we may have to make changes to the advertised programme and tutors. As we plan the programme in advance, changes will inevitably occur to some courses, and occasionally the original tutors are unavailable. We always endeavour to replace tutors with someone of similar experience, and to give you as much notice as possible. On these occasions, we regret that cancellation rights remain as above and we are unable to reimburse travel costs. Rarely, we need to cancel a course and in these circumstances we will attempt to offer you an alternative course or return your fee and full deposit paid.

Conduct
We ask that you are thoughtful and respectful of other students. Moniack Mhor reserves the right to refuse a place and to exclude from a course any person who, in the opinion of the Centre Director, behaves in an abusive or disruptive manner or engages in any discriminatory conduct. There would be no refund given if exclusion is made for these reasons.

Loss
Moniack Mhor cannot accept responsibility for any loss, damage or expense sustained by students as a result of an event or circumstance whether arising from natural cause, human agency, or beyond its control otherwise.

Participation and access
Moniack Mhor is committed to providing a supportive and welcoming environment to all. During a week’s stay, course participants will be expected to take part in daily group activities. You will also be expected to share in domestic duties with your group, such as preparing a meal and washing up, for which guidance is provided.
We can usually accommodate a carer or support worker and we also welcome assistance dogs. If you have specific needs, it is important that you discuss these with the centre prior to booking, to establish how we can best meet your needs.
