The aim of this day is to produce a finished poem on the theme of Family, exploring a variety of forms, e.g. letter poems, story poems, elegiac poems. The course will include a workshop, discussion, readings and, if time, a brief talk on the pleasures and perils of poetry publishing. An opportunity for those who wish to develop their craft.

Diana Hendry has published five collections of poetry (the latest is The Seed-Box Lantern: New and Selected Poems), many short stories, children’s books (including Costa-shortlisted The Seeing) and a libretto.

Hamish Whyte is a poet, award-winning publisher (Mariscat Press) and editor (Scottish Cats: an anthology of poems). His most recent collection of poems is Hannah, Are You Listening? (HappenStance Press).
