Through workshops and one-to-one tutorials, we’ll be here to help you test out techniques and approaches that will get you to your best, most imaginative writing. We’ll look at characters and dialogue, writing imagined and remembered scenes and scapes, and we’ll be talking about how to build (and use) images in what you’re writing.

Elizabeth Reeder, originally from Chicago, lives in Scotland and is the author of two critically acclaimed novels Ramshackle & Fremont.  She teaches Creative Writing at the University of Glasgow and is co-convenor of that programme. Her website is ekreeder.com and in on twitter @ekreeder

Kevin MacNeil is an award-winning writer from the Outer Hebrides, now resident in London. He is a novelist, screenwriter, lyricist, playwright, poet and writing mentor. His latest novel is The Brilliant & Forever (‘It is a joy to read such an engaging, luminous novel’ — The Guardian).

A L Kennedy is considered one of the finest fiction writers in the UK and has won multiple awards and prizes. She’s written six novels, including Day, which won the Costa Book Award. She also has six short story collections, the most recent being All the Rage.

Free to all Highland residents aged 14 -19.
