Catherine Deveney is a freelance journalist and the author of four novels.  A former teacher, she has worked across all sections of national newspapers as well as presenting her own series of television interviews for STV and Grampian.   The bulk of her career has been as a feature writer and celebrity interviewer for Sunday newspapers but in 2013, she diverted into hard news when she broke the story of Cardinal Keith O’Brien’s sexual advances to his own priests.  This led to the resignation of the Cardinal, the most senior Catholic cleric in Britain.   Deveney went on to write a series of articles about abuse and corruption within the Catholic Church.  In addition to her work as a journalist and author, she delivers training courses for journalists and teaches feature writing, interviewing techniques and creative writing.

Free to all Highland residents aged 14 – 25.
