Writer L.D. Lapinski will lead the Young Writers’ Café for young people in Inverness and surrounding areas in December.
Join KICKFLIP author LD Lapinski to find out how comics and graphic novels are created and published. Get to grips with the script to illustration process, and learn how anyone can be a comics creator, no experience required!
No need for experience, just bring along a playful mind and pen and paper! Drinks and snacks provided.

About the author
L. D. Lapinski is the best-selling author of books for children and young adults including KICKFLIP, the ARTEZANS trilogy, JAMIE, the Stepfather Christmas duology, and The Strangeworlds Travel Agency series. They have also written for the BBC’s DOCTOR WHO books, and L. D’s first book for adults, SOME BODY LIKE ME, was published by Gollancz in April 2025. Their work has been nominated for the Carnegie Medal, the Polari prize and the Branford Boase. L. D. lives on the Black Isle with their family and two cats named Hector and Rory.
