Come to Moniack Mhor this April to explore drama, poetry and their part in your life, with Chris Thorpe and Francesca Beard, two of the most dynamic voices in theatre and performance poetry in the UK today. If you’re already interested in playwriting, performing or poems, or you just want to try them for the very first time, ‘Drama and Poetry’ is for you!

Francesca Beard:

Francesca Beard is an internationally acclaimed spoken word artist who makes interactive and transformational work for live audiences.

She has over twenty years experience facilitating projects with a wide range of diverse communities, for organisations such as All Change Arts, B3 Media, the BBC, The Barbican, The British Council and The Young Vic.

She’s been called ‘Brilliant’ (The Scotsman), ‘Spine-tingling’ (The Independent) and ‘The Queen of British performance poetry’ (London Metro)

She comes from London, by way of Malaysia.

Chris Thorpe:

Chris is a writer and performer from Manchester. He’s made many kinds of theatre about many different subjects – from small personal conversations with the audience about how we all screw up sometimes, to big political shows about nuclear disarmament, to murder mystery podcasts about Iranian pop stars and songs about the climate crisis. He works with theatres, festivals and collaborates with many other artists, in the UK and beyond.
