This course will focus on those crucial stages after you’ve begun to put your ideas on paper and before they’re ready for the eyes of your future readers.

Alan Bissett is the author of four novels, including Death of a Ladies Man, and Pack Men, both of which were shortlisted for Scottish Novel of the Year.  He is also a performer, monologue writer and playwright.  In 2011 he was given the Glenfiddich Spirit of Scotland’s Scottish Writer of the Year Award.

Rodge Glass is the acclaimed author of three novels, a graphic novel, and the winner of a Somerset Maugham Award for his biography of Alasdair Gray. His collection LoveSexTravelMusik: Stories for the Easy Jet Generation was published in 2013.

Guest:

Michel Faber’s latest novel is called The Book of Strange New Things. Other books include The Crimson Petal and the White, The Fahrenheit Twins, The Apple and the Whitbread-shortlisted novel Under the Skin. He has also written two novellas and has won several short-story awards, including the Neil Gunn, Ian St James and Macallan. Born in Holland, brought up in Australia, he now lives in the Scottish Highlands.
