Novelist Michel Faber will lead the Young Writers’ Café for young people in Inverness and surrounding areas in July.

Do you REALLY want to be a writer? Novelist Michel Faber talks you through the rewards, rejections, challenges, weirdnesses and dangers.
Michel will be talking about the different, equally valid reasons why people want to be writers, the criticism that you may render yourself vulnerable to, the pros and cons of online communities and writers’ groups and dealing with rejection.

No need for experience, just bring along a playful mind and pen and paper! Drinks and snacks provided.

Please note, this workshop is free but but you do need to secure your place by booking below. By booking, you confirm that you are a young writer aged 14-24, and based in Scotland. For enquiries, contact youngwriters@moniackmhor.org.uk.

Michel Faber is the author of ten books including the novels The Crimson Petal and The White, Under The Skin and The Book of Strange New Things, the short story collections Some Rain Must Fall and The Fahrenheit Twins and the poetry collection Undying.
