Please join our online memoir writing course participants and tutor in welcoming writer Amy Key to our virtual floor! In this one-hour session delivered via Zoom, Amy will read from and discuss her work in conversation with writer Chitra Ramaswamy, tutor of our current online Moniack in a Month: Memoir course. There will also be a short time for questions from our audience.

We are happy to be able to extend access to our online Moniack in a Month Guest Writer events on a ‘pay as you can’ basis.

Guest Writer

Amy Key is a poet and writer based in London. Her first work of non-fiction, Arrangements in Blue, was published by Jonathan Cape (UK) in April 2023 and was a book of the year in The Sunday Times and The Independent. Her essays have appeared in The World of Interiors, Granta, Vogue, The Poetry Review and elsewhere. 

Host

Chitra Ramaswamy is an author and journalist. Her latest book, Homelands: The History of a Friendship (Canongate) is a work of creative non-fiction exploring her friendship with a 99-year-old German Jewish refugee called Henry Wuga. It won the Saltire Non-Fiction Book of the Year and was included in The Guardian’s top memoirs and biographies of 2022. Her first book, Expecting: The Inner Life of Pregnancy (Saraband), which won the Saltire First Book of the Year Award and was shortlisted for the Polari Prize, was a memoir in nine essays tracking the nine months of pregnancy. She has contributed essays to Antlers of Water, Nasty Women, The Freedom Papers, The Bi:ble, and Message From The Skies and recently completed a commission from the Alasdair Gray Archive. She writes for The Guardian, is the restaurant critic for The Times Scotland, and broadcasts for BBC radio. She is from London and lives in Edinburgh with her partner, two children and rescue dog. She is currently working on her third book.
