Dè tha e a’ ciallachadh a bhith ri bhàrdachd sa Ghàidhlig anns an latha a th’ ann? Ciamar a ghabhadh dìleab phrìseil dualchas nan Gàidheal a cleachdadh às ùr airson freagairt a thoirt dhan t-saoghal a tha timcheall oirnn? Ann am measgachadh de chlasaichean beaga, chòmhraidhean agus sheiseanan pearsanta, bidh Dàibhidh Eyre agus Pàdraig MacAoidh a’ toirt taic ri ur cuid bàrdachd, agus a’ piobrachadh dòighean smaoineachaidh ùr a bhith coimhead air bàrdachd, ann an àrainneachd cho brèagha agus cho brosnachail airson sgrìobhadh sa ghabhas. Bidh fàilte air duine sam bith a bhios a’ sgrìobhadh bàrdachd no òrain, aig gach ìre.

DOING POETRY
(IMMERSION COURSE FOR FLUENT GAELIC SPEAKERS)

WITH PETER MACKAY & DAVID EYRE

What does it mean to write poetry in Gaelic in the modern day? How can the Gaelic poetic tradition be reworked to respond to the world around us? In a mix of small classes, conversations and personal sessions, David Eyre and Peter Mackay will give you advice on your own poetry, and discuss different ways of looking at poetry, in as stimulating – and beautiful – an environment as it gets. There is a warm welcome to Gaelic writers of poetry and song, at all levels.

Peter Mackay’s first collection Gu Leòr was published by Acair in 2015, and was shortlisted for the Saltire Scottish Poetry Book of the year. His work has appeared widely in magazines, newspapers and on radio, and been translated into German, French, Irish, Czech and English. He is also co-editor of An Leabhar Liath (Luath, 2015). He was born and raised on Lewis, and now lives in Edinburgh and works as a lecturer at the University of St Andrews.

David Eyre was born in North Lanarkshire in 1972. His poems have appeared in periodicals including Poetry Scotland, Irish Pages, Northwords Now, An Guth, and Gutter. He was Poet in Residence at StAnza 2018. In 2015 his first short novel Glainne was published by Sandstone Press and his first novel Cailèideascop was published by Luath in 2017.
